Katherine Rivas

Katherine Rivas Fuentes, (Venezuela, 1987) Is a flute and piccolo player and singer. Licentiate of The Royal Schools of Music in Flute Performance and passed with distinction (2019). Rivas was Flute Principal Associated of the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra in Mexico (1016-2021).
She has won the category flute in the 1st National Flute and Piccolo Competition of the National Flute Orchestra of Venezuela 2014. Participated in the International Woodwind Quintet Competition ARD Munich 2014 obtaining special prize from Barenreiter, and as Soloist in the International Flute Competitions Jean-Pierre Rampal 2008 And Carl Nielsen 2014. She also performed in two CDs that has GRAMMY Nominations (“FIESTA” with Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela conducted by Gustavo Dudamel and “MARIACHITLAN” with Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra of Mexico conducted by Marco Parisotto)
