Kayla currently attends Holy Spirit School, in 8th grade. She began playing the oboe at age 11 and has participated in school bands and the San Jose Youth Symphony. She currently studies with her teacher, Yeseul Park. Her dedication paid off when she achieved second place at the San Francisco Innovative International Music Competition. Outside of music, Kayla loves playing sports, participating as a member of the school’s basketball, soccer, and volleyball teams. She is also involved in community service through the Girl Scouts. Her efforts earned her a certificate of recognition from San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan, in the pursuit of the Silver Award.
