Kevin Li, a Junior at Farmington High School in Utah, has been playing viola since age 9 under Shuo Diao’s guidance. He has led the viola section in his school orchestra for 3 of his 7 years there and has been part of the Utah High School All-State Orchestra for 4 years, serving as viola section leader last year. In 2020, he won the Gold Prize in the Baroque Composition Category of the London Young Musician competition, and in 2024, he won Third Place in the Intermediate Category (Age 15 to 18) of the American Protégé International Piano & Strings Competition. Kevin also enjoys playing piano, cello, and violin, and participates in VEX Robotics competitions.
