
Kevon Thompson is a 21 year old tenor currently completing his undergraduate degree at Michigan State University, studying vocal performance under Richard Fracker. Originally from Lorton, Virginia, Thompson’s first introduction to opera came from the Washington National Opera Summer Institute, where he sang the role of Sam from Kurt Weill’s Street Scene. From there, Thompson met Kennedy Center’s Nolan Williams, singing in the Voices of America choir for Andrea Bocelli at the Capital One Arena. He has had the opportunity to work with notable singers such as Denyce Graves, Harolyn Blackwell, and Gran Wilson in numerous master classes. Thompson has performed many roles during his undergraduate career including The Mayor (Albert Herring), Podestà (La Finta Giardiniera), Bardolfo (Falstaff) and more. Thompson hopes to pursue vocal performance during his masters with the goal of eventually singing for the Metropolitan Opera
