
Internationally renowned French horn player Vivian Chiang holds a master’s degree in music performance from Boston University and has over twenty years of professional experience in music, encompassing roles as an educator, performer, and musician. Her exceptional musical talent has been extensively covered by various media outlets, including New York Weekly, Medium, Art Daily, Music Times, China.com, ELONG, Tencent, Industrial and Commercial Times, China Times News, and Huaxia Classical Art Network.
As an educator, Vivian exhibits unique talent and unwavering passion for teaching. She instills a love for music in her students, regardless of age or skill level, tailoring lessons to their needs and aspirations. Her educational achievements include guiding students to win second place in the Great Composers International Music Competition, earning Yamaha Piano certifications, and leading a wind ensemble to victory in the highly competitive Hsinchu City Student Wind Ensemble Competition. Vivian has taught professional music knowledge and performance techniques at various institutions, including the Belmont After School Enrichment Collaborative (BASEC), Wisdom Music Center, Together Hand in Hand Music Arts Center, Junru Arts and Culture Education, Zhubei High School, Hsinchu Industrial Vocational High School, and Hsinchu Chinese Orchestra.
As an active musician, Ms. Chiang has served as a French horn member in several renowned orchestras, such as the Hsinchu Symphony Orchestra, Moments of Philharmonia Symphony Orchestra, China Youth Corps Wind Ensemble, Kreutzer Wind Orchestra, and Ark Art Symphony Orchestra. She has performed in prestigious concert halls and art centers around the world, including Boston Symphony Hall, First Church in Cambridge, Tsai Performance Center, Saint-Omer Music Festival in France, Taoyuan Concert Hall, Kaohsiung Music Hall, Taipei National Concert Hall, and Hsinchu Art Center. Currently, she is a French horn member of the DuBois Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Orchestra Book Club, where her musical talent continues to shine on stage.
Vivian Chiang’s remarkable musical journey began with her early success in international competitions, showcasing her unwavering talent. She has won numerous prestigious awards, including first prize in the Hsinchu French Horn Solo Competition, first prize in the Cultural Cup Taipei Brass Quintet Competition, second prize in the Taipei French Horn Solo Competition, third prize in the Bamboo Cup Music Piano Competition, third prize in the Taiwan Woodwind Quintet Competition, special prize in the Taiwan French Horn Solo Competition, and first prize in the Taipei French Horn Solo Competition. In recognition of her outstanding achievements, Vivian was awarded the highest honor of membership by the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society in 2023. Recently, in 2024, she won first prize in the Charleston International Music Competition, first prize in the Great Composers International Competition, and the Platinum Prize along with the Outstanding Interpretation Special Award in the Pica Schubert International Music and Art Competition.
