Laura Alejandra Zambrano Ibague

Laura Alejandra Zambrano Ibagué, flute.

A native of Bogotá, Colombia, Laura A. Zambrano, is currently pursuing a certificate under Dr. Jill Heyboer at Missouri State University on a half- assistantship as a member of the MSU Symphonic Orchestra. After accomplishing this certificate, Laura will be applying for Doctorate programs to become a university teacher. Ms. Zambrano has been a member of ensembles in Colombia and the United States including, the Springfield pop-up Orchestra and the Springfield Chamber Orchestra. Winner of the University Chamber music competition in Bogota (2018), fifth place in the 1st national chamber music competition in Bogota (2019), and honorable mention (3rd Prize) in the MAP International Music Competition (2021). In 2018, Laura earned her bachelor’s degree in music performance at the National University of Colombia. In 2019, Ms. Zambrano moved to the United States of America to study her Master of Arts and Letters in Music Performance at Missouri State University with Dr. Jill Heyboer. During her master’s, she was an active asset of the MSU Wind ensemble and Symphonic Orchestra, and chamber ensembles.
