
Lian Guo began her musical journey with piano at age 5 and cello at age eight. Currently she is studying piano with Sayuri Lida and cello with Bernard Tamosaitis. In 2023 she participated in her first competition, the 2023 Golden Classical Music Awards, her cello skills allowed her to earn first prize and the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall. Since then she has been participating in various youth orchestras and music festivals. She participated in Grade 6 NYSSMA for cello and piano, earning A+ for both instruments. In 2023 she passed ABRSM Grade 5 Piano Practical. She participated in All County Orchestra and Greater Westchester Youth Orchestra in the Junior Strings division. During July 2024, she attended the Philadelphia International Music Festival and was assistant principle in the Young Artists’ division. In addition to music, Lian enjoys reading, visiting libraries, and archery.
