I have loved singing from a very young age and have always been a rather passionate and outspoken individual which led me to join choir and voice programs. Today I am in my schools singers choir and church choir as well as been in my school auditioned chamber choir for 2 years. I have attended voice lessons at mcphail school of music for the past 4 years under Mikyoung Park and additionally have taken lessons from Sara Sawyer for the past 3 years. Through these programs I have discovered my passion for specifically classical music as it draws so much emotion out of me and feels like one of the highest forms of art. Over the past years I have experienced many varieties of music and I find myself wanting to keep pursing classical and operatic music in the future. Currently I am 17 and entering my senior year at Minnehaha Academy highschool. I’ve surrounded myself with as many opportunities as I can. I was an 2023-2024 All-state SSAA choir attendee and will be attending 2024-2025 SATB all-state choir camp this summer. I have attended and received “superior” ranking at state solo ensemble contest 3 years in a row at Bethel University and attended NATS vocal contest for the past 2 years. Lastly I’ve involved myself in many recitals in my school and music school aswell as attended Dorian festival at Luther colleges . My competition experiences have significantly improved the quality of my performance over the past years. I have a deep love and appreciation for music which flows throughout me and moves me through life and it’s my desire to continue to invest in my future and talents through competitions such as these. I hope you will consider me for the Charleston competition.
