Lottie Marian Hicks

Lottie Hicks is a young pianist based in Salt Lake City, Utah. She has been studying at the Gifted Music School since the age of five. After her extensive lessons at this school, she joined Dr. Vera Watanabe’s studio at the age of seven, who she still studies under.

To advance her technique, she joined the Gifted Music School Conservatory. Here she attends weekly classes, consisting of music history, music theory, choir, and piano ensemble.

In addition to the conservatory, Lottie participates in a music listening class at the Gifted Music School where she competed in the 2025 national music listening competition in which she and her team advanced to the national level and scored in the top 5.

Lottie additionally studies classical voice at the Gifted Music School under Dr. Sarah Houghton. Here she works on developing her voice focusing mainly on traditional Italian arias and classical musical theater pieces.

Lottie is also very involved in her community. She enjoys being on her high school music council and participates in the Orchestra and Jazz band as the pianist. She volunteers to perform and accompany choirs at events as well.

Lottie has performed at venues such as Abravanel Hall, Westminster College, and the Utah Fine Arts Museum. She has also taken her studies outside of her community, participating in programs at schools such as The Colburn School. She has placed high in both local and international competitions.
