Lucas MacLaren lives in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey and started playing piano when he was 6 years old.
Since studying with Steven Viola of the Yamaha Music Conservatory of New Jersey, he has enjoyed participating in several auditions and competitions. He participated in the MEA (Music Education Association) Annual Piano Auditions in 2022 and 2023 and gained the result of “Outstanding Performance” on both occasions. Additionally, he reached the finals of the Young Maestro International Music Competition at the Lincoln Center, NYC in 2023. Lucas also accompanied his school’s chorus group on the piano during their Holiday Concert for parents in 2022.
Lucas enjoys participating at the annual music recitals for Steven Viola’s students and in January 2023 and 2024 performed at the Ridgewood Public Library.
