Lucas Hao Wang

Lucas Wang has a strong passion for music. He started playing violin since he was 6 under Sue Mann, and now with Berlin-based violinist Iskandar Widjaja. Lucas is an accomplished musician in both collaborative and solo settings. Lucas performed with Magical Strings West in an extensive concert tour throughout Italy and Austria in 2017 as well as the Chicago Orchestra Hall in 2018. Since 2019, Lucas has been an active performer in the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra. Recently, he joined the California Youth Symphony Senior Orchestra in the fall of 2022. As a competitive soloist, Lucas has been awarded many prizes. In 2021, he received 1st prize in the U.S. International Open Music Competition, and 2nd prize in both the Music Talent and Romantic Music categories of the American Prodigy Music Competition. In 2022, he received 1st prize in the Muse International Music Competition and the Radda Rise International String Competition of his age group, and 2nd prize in Geneva International Music Competition and Gold prize in the World Classical Music Awards. He performed as a soloist in concerts in Jakarta Indonesia in the summer of 2022, and he will make his solo debut at Carnegie Hall in November 2022.
