Mackenzie Smith is a 4th year Bachelor of Music in Education major at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has studied voice for 7 years, 3 years in high school with Dr. Elizabeth Linnartz and 4 at Carolina with Dr. Jeanne Fischer. She has also taken 7 years of piano, and holds a worship leading position at Evergreen United Methodist Church where she leads the congregation playing piano and singing. She is currently a student teaching intern of middle and elementary music at Little River K-8 in Durham, and this summer she will be leading worship at Passport Camps, a nonprofit youth and kids Baptist summer camp. In the fall, Mackenzie will be attending Duke Divinity School to pursue a Masters of Divinity with a Certificate in Theology and the Arts, and hopes to continue pursuing a career in teaching and music ministry.
