I have been playing the piano since I was five, and I’ve been in love with it ever since. Playing the piano has always given me a sense of peace and satisfaction that I don’t get out of many other things.
I started out learning the basics in a group class, then started private piano lessons. Later, I transferred to learn with my current piano teacher, Vivian Kwok. In third grade, I participated in my first video competition and was one of the second place winners, and I got to play at Carnegie Hall. In fourth grade, I participated in another video competition and was one of the second place winners again, although I didn’t get to play live because of Covid-19.
During quarantine, I had more free time to practice piano, but I couldn’t go in person to my piano teacher’s place. But, I still learned a lot of new and fun pieces by both classical composers such as Chopin and Schubert and more recent pieces by composers such as Yiruma.
