Makaela Shade-Alexander was raised in Washington D.C. where she developed her love for music. She started picking up instruments around the age of 10, playing the violin until she was about 15 years old. She attended Duke Ellington School of the Arts High School where she studied voice graduating in 2016. She then went on to continue her studies of Voice at Montclair State University receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance in 2020 and is looking forward to pursuing her Masters Degree in Vocal Performance in Fall of 2023.
