Mako Nishimura grew up listening to piano being played constantly by her two older brothers. After moving to the US when she was 4 years old, one of her brothers joined the high school orchestra and began taking cello lessons for the first time. Inspired by his progress over the next three years, she picked up the cello and thus began her musical journey. Since then she has proven her musical talent and honed her technical virtuosity, receiving the first place in both of the Performing Arts Festival of the Eastside in 2021and the Simon-Fiset Strings Competitions in 2022. She joined the Seattle Symphonette Symphony Orchestra and studies under the tutelage of Haeyoon Shin Krentz.
Mako is 12 years old and loves baking, calligraphy, abacus, and occasional gaming.
