Mandy Yu started playing piano at age of 5 years old. She performed with Rochester Symphony as a piano soloist at the age of 10. She is a 7-time winner of the MMTA (Minnesota Music Teachers Association) contest. Mandy is a devoted piano player and won many prizes in several state and midwestern piano solo and concerto competitions. For example, she won 2nd place at 2023 Rochester Music Guild Scholarship Competition. She is the Finalist at 2023 New York Young Performers Prizes Music Competition. Most recently Mandy won First Prize at 2024 Winter Music Competition, and Second Prize at 2024 Classical Music category of Charleston International Music Competition.
