Maria-Louisa Van Staden

Maria-Louisa van Staden was born in Bucharest, on 26th of November 2007. She studies piano with Professor Maurizio Moretti at Schola Cantorum Paris where recently she was admitted to study on the level of Virtuosité, and with Roman Manoleanu at the National College of Music “George Enescu”, Bucharest, Romania. Maria obtained in June 2023 Diploma Superiore for Piano at Schola Cantorum, Paris. Since September 2015, when she started playing piano, she obtained numerous prizes in national (winner of many 1st prizes and national competitions) and international piano competitions, 1st Prize (2016) and 3rd Prizes (2017, 2019) at Feurich International Piano Competitions in Vienna, 1st Prizes at International Music Competitions Grand Prize Virtuoso in London (2016), Vienna (2016), Salzburg (2017), Rome (2017), Brussels (2018), 1st Prize at Emil Rotundu International Piano Competition, Timisoara (2020), 1st Prize at Munich Piano Competition (2021), 2nd Prize at On stage piano competition 2019 and 2020 (1st Prize was not awarded in both years), 1st Prize at Franz Liszt Center Piano Competition (Spain, 2021, 2023), 1st Prize at Great Masters International Piano Competition Vladimir Horowitz Edition, 2021, 2nd Prize at V Paderewski International Piano Competition-Special Online Edition, 2020, 3rd Prize at Adilia Alieva International Piano Competition 2020 France, and Cesar Franck International Piano Competition – special online editions. 2nd Prizes at Piano Talents, October 2020, International Moscow Music Competition, December 2020, and at Gloria Artis Piano Competition, Vienna, December 2020. She obtained a Honorable Mention at Rosario Marciano Competition, Vienna (2016). To date, Maria-Louisa performed in prestigious concert halls, at Royal Albert Hall – London, Vienna (Kaisersaal, Musikverein, Billrothhaus, and Ehrbar Saal), Salzburg at Wiener Saal Mozarteum, Laeiszhalle Hamburg (Stage4Kids 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020), Brussels (The Centre For Fine Arts), Sinaia Royal Palace, Romania, Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Amsterdam (Festival – Klassiek op het Amstelveld 2018) and Bucharest at Ateneul Roman (invited recital, by George Enescu Philarmonic, Tuesday evening recitals). She was invited to play at Elena Cobb Star Prize Festival, Carnegie Weill Recital Hall, New York (USA) (as a special prize obtained at Stage4Kids Festival Hamburg 2020). She was playing at the V and VI International Festivals Ambassador of Tarnow Maestro Krystian Tkaczewski and his Guests Concerto nr 3 of Beethoven (August 2021), and Concerto No 2 of F Chopin (August 2022), with the Chamber Orchestra of Tarnow, and Maestro Masahi Katayama.
