Mark Zhu

Mark Zhu is a 17-year-old pianist, singer-songwriter, and producer from Michigan, United States. He started learning piano at age five and began his studies with Mrs. Hsiu-Hui Peng Chen at age seven when he moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan. As a three-time Carnegie Hall performer, Mark received honorable mention in the 2018 American Protégé International Strings and Piano Competition; first place in the 2019 Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition; winner in the American Protégé International Competition of Romantic Music; and first place in the 2022 International Music Competition London Grand Prize Virtuoso (and was selected to perform at Royal Albert Hall in London, England). Outside of piano, Mark writes, sings, and produces original music. He incorporates his classical piano background in his songs to create ethereal chord progressions and powerful melodies. Inspired by Billie Eilish, Eric Nam, and Debussy, Mark aspires to be a recording and touring artist. Mark also creates visual arts in illustration, graphic design, photography, and videography, which he uses to create musical content to promote his music across YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram (@markzhuofficial).
