Dr. Maxim Anikushin – concert pianist – biography
Dr. Anikushin has appeared as a piano soloist in such world famous venues in New York as Carnegie Hall (Stern and Weill) and Merkin Hall, to name but a few. He also collaborated with the great conductor of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra JoAnn Falletta (Barber/ Shostakovich No. 1 Piano Concertos) and world famous violist and the conductor of the Moscow Soloists Chamber Orchestra Yuri Bashmet (Shostakovich Concerto No.1).
Vivian Schweitzer of the New York Times reviewing Maxim’s performance at Stern Hall of Carnegie Hall on April 5, 2012 wrote that “Maxim Anikushin has a genuine affinity for the music of Samuel Barber.” On November 1 and 3, 2012, Dr. Anikushin made history when he performed the complete keyboard music of Samuel Barber at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at Lincoln Center.
Maxim holds Bachelor (96) and Master (98) degrees from The Juilliard School of Music and a Doctorate (08) from the Manhattan School of Music- all in piano performance.
