Maya Brisard is a 12 year old violinist from Solana Beach, California.
She’s been studying violin since she was 5, for the first two years with Linda Piatt, and after that and currently with Dr. Moni Simeonov at the Colburn School.
She has been a member of the Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra (MMYO) since 2017 and has served as Concertmistress in Beginning and Intermediate Strings, and Intermediate Orchestra. She has won First Prize in the MMYO’s Solo Competition three times in 2019, 2020 and 2022.
In 2023, she won First Prize in Music Teachers Association of California’s VOCE Regional Competition and Gold Medal in Southern California Junior Bach Festival. She also has a First Prize from the Charleston International Music Competition.
In 2024, she won First Prize in the Regional VOCE Competition.
Maya also loves her involvement with a piano trio in the Colburn School. She also loves to spend time outdoors with family and friends and to travel.
