Melinda Xu, from Chino Hills, California, is seven years old and a second grader at Tzu Chi Elementary School. Introduced to piano at age of five, she has been playing piano for two years. She is currently learning piano with Ms. Chun Chen Chan. Melinda participated in the 2023 Olympiad Music Festival for Pianisits and won Gold Medal. She has also won the 2nd place in the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition Spring 2023, and completed her very first performance at the Carnegie Hall in last December. Melinda loves to perform on the stage in recitals very much. She has been awarded Outstanding Performance in the 2023 Rhapsody Education Music & Art Festival. She participated in the Young Pianist Contest at Satori Music Festival 2022 and has won the 1st place at entry level. Melinda has many after-school activities such as gymnastics, tennis and dance; however, piano has always been her favorite one. She has a great passion in piano and enjoys playing it every day.
