Michał Pasierbek

Michał Pasierbek, born in 2007, began playing the oboe in 2012. Until the second year of secondary school, he attended the Zespół Szkół Muzycznych in Bielsko-Biała. He is currently in the fifth year of secondary school at the Mieczysław Karłowicz State Music School in Katowice. Since the beginning of his education, he has been studying under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Piotr Pyc.

He is the laureate of over 20 national and international competitions.

Some of his most notable achievements include:

-1st places in the International Pro Bohemia Instrumental Competition in 2017 and 2019
-2nd places in the 25th and 27th Silesian Woodwind Instrument Competition “Woodwinds for the Youngest”
-1st place in the 17th National Young Soloists Competition in Jaworzno
-1st place in the 1st National Oboe Competition in Jaworzno
-1st place in the International Music Competition in Serbia
-2nd place in the American Protégé Music Competition in New York.
Michał participated as an oboist in the Orchestra4young 2023 and 2024 projects under the baton of Adam Sztaba. He has performed in many music schools, at the Pomeranian Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz, the “Atma” Villa, and Carnegie Hall. He has honed his skills under the guidance of renowned oboists such as Washington Barella, Gordon Hunt, and Michael Niesemann.

In 2024, he was awarded the “Młoda Polska” scholarship and has also received scholarships from the President of Bielsko-Biała and the Minister of Culture. In 2022, he was part of the National Children’s Fund. He currently plays on a Marigaux 901 oboe.
