
Michelle Huang, age 15, is a highschool harpist in California’s Bay Area. She began playing in 2018 under internationally performing harpist Erica Messer. Then in 2020, she began studying under Kristal Schwartz, founder of the SJYS Harp Ensemble.
Michelle studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music in summer of 2023 under renowned harpist Yolanda Kondonassis. She is currently mentored by Amy Ahn, the 3rd prize winner in the 2023 American Harp Society competition.
From retirement homes to malls to churches, Michelle has a history of harp performances in diverse venues.
In June 2024, Michelle performed in Los Angeles after receiving Convention Honors from Certificate of Merit. In August 2024, she traveled with IAPMT to perform at venues in Romania and Austria.
Michelle has been awarded the MusicWorks prize special award and tied for the grand prize in the 2023 YLMS Harp Competition.
