Mina Chang

Mina Chang

Mina Chang’s violin career spans just over a decade, her affinity for the instrument beginning at the age of five years. Since then, she has been awarded honorable mention in numerous competitions (DePaul Concerto Festival and the Elgin Youth Symphony Concerto Competition) and this past year was selected as a finalist in the Sejong Cultural Society Competition. In addition to this, she has also participated in the Illinois Music Educators’ Association district and honors state ensembles. She was one of the co-concertmasters of the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra this past year. Her love for music expands beyond violin. At school, in addition to being a member of the pit orchestra, mass orchestra, and chamber orchestra, she plays trumpet in jazz band, french horn in concert band, and is a drum major in marching band.
