
Mina Kim is 16-year-old cellist and chamber musician, who has won various music competitions and performed at venues such as the Weill Recital Hall and Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall, the Brono Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center, and Merkin Hall at the Kaufman Music Center,
National Sawdust, the Manhattan School of Music, United Palace, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Recently, Mina has received Maestro Award, Gold & Best Overall Orchestra at the Boston Heritage Music Festival, and candidates From the Top. She has received multiple awards, including the 1st chair cellist in the NJSMA Orchestra in 2024, and in years before, 1st Prize Winner & Bronze Cash Reward at VIVO International Music Competition, the First Place & Young Virtuoso Cash Prize Winner at the New York Young Virtuoso Competition, 2nd Prize at Bellagrande International Music Competition, 1st Prize at the Great Composers Competition in the division of the Art of Chamber Music, and the Grand Prize & Best Ensemble Award at the New York Concert Festival International Competition, etc. Mina has performed masterclasses with Laurence Lesser, Joel Krosnick, Fred Sherry, Aizuri Quartet, Khari Joyner, Limar Gavilan, Jaime Amador, and Peter Stumpf.
Mina is part of the Grammy-winning orchestra New York Youth Symphony Orchestra under Andrew Kim as a cellist. She also is a founding member of the SoRi cello trio under Miho Weber’s coaching at the NYYS Chamber Music Program since 2020, and has been a member of the Violoncello Society of New York.
Last year, Mina was awarded a scholarship to attend the Manhattan School of Music Pre-college under professor Wolfram Koessel and is currently the principal cellist in Repertory Orchestra.
