Miriam Spence

Miriam Spence began playing piano at age six and is a student of Jung Eun Hong in New York City.

As a first-time participant at the New York University NYSSMA Piano Festival in 2018, she received top marks. Later, in 2020, she received a 1st place in the Little Mozarts International Competition and a 2nd place in the Crescendo International Competition, for which she was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall. She was a 2nd place winner in the 2021 American Protege International Piano & Strings Competition.

Miriam plays classical repertoire and especially likes Chopin and Scarlatti; she is excited to learn new and more challenging pieces while she develops her technique and understanding of music theory.

In addition to piano, Miriam plays badminton and volleyball, competes in debate, and dances. She is a dedicated student and math, English and science are her favorite academic subjects.
