Naysa Marrero Pruzaesky is a young soprano with devotion to the world of music, art song, and opera. She was born in Cuba and grew up there until the age of 10, when her family immigrated to the United States. Naysa fell in love with the operatic genre in the U.S. and pursued the study of classical vocal performance at New World School of the Arts High School, where she has had the privilege to participate in many performances, sing in masterclasses, and work with several professors that have largely contributed to her artistry and musical sensibility. Ms. Marrero will continue her education at the prestigious Frost School of Music at the University of Miami under the tutelage of world-renowned baritone, Kim Josephson.
Recent accomplishments have been the first place of the 2022-2023 Florida Schmidt Vocal Competition, her success in New World’s 2022 Concerto Competition, and the 1st place on the Art Song Musically Advanced II Category of the 2022 Florida Federated Music Clubs. On February 2022 Naysa was awarded a scholarship to collaborate with the Miami Music Festival in productions and concerts, said scholarship also covered private study. Naysa will be embodying the role of Amore from Monteverdi’s “L’Incoronazione di Poppea” with that same festival this July.
