Neel Ali Perdue

Neel is an 11-year-old pianist from Ashburn Virginia. Neel started piano lessons with his preschool music teacher at age 4 for a year before transitioning to the Opus Conservatory in Northern Virginia. Since 2018, he has been under the mentorship of Dr. Edvinas Minkstimas at the European Academy of Arts. Neel is a passionate pianist who has perfect pitch and is full of musical ideas. In addition to playing challenging pieces, he loves composing his own music. He has composed many compositions including 5 variations and musical compositions in which he has tried to express the main Harry Potter characters through his music. Neel has recently won a few competitions, including being selected second and third place winner in the American Prodigy competitions and invited to perform at the Weill Recital Hall. He was also selected first prize winner in the Charleston International Competition and in the Beethoven Young Musician Competition. In addition, he has been invited to perform at the Weill Recital Hall by the Progressive Musicians for their Carnegie Hall Gala event in November. He is eager to compete in more competitions. Neel loves to play a variety of genres of music, including classical, jazz and Avant-garde. Neel loves reading about the great composers and listening to their master pieces. He is the school’s concert pianist and loves to perform for his school, community, and family and friends. Aside from piano, Neel loves to compete in local USTA tennis tournaments.
