Nick Jacques, 14, began learning piano at the age of 5. Later when he was 8 years old, he switched his focus to the cello under the teachings of Abbey Hansen. He is currently taught by David Alan Harrell. Nick joined the Contemporary Youth Orchestra when he was 12, and The Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra at age 13. Additionally, he has won the Cleveland Cello Society Scholarship Competition, Lakeland Civic Orchestra Concerto Competition, and was a prize winner of the Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity String Competition.
