Nina Kasamatsu

Nina Kasamatsu

Originally from Tokyo, Japan, Nina is currently a junior at the American School in Japan. She began playing the flute at the age of 9 under the tutelage of Jun Kubo, and has since developed her musical maturity through participating in national and international competitions, musical festivals and programs, and learning from other passionate musicians from around the world.
This past summer, Nina studied under Professor Linda Toote at Boston University’s Tanglewood Institute. Previously, she had played in the New England Conservatory’s Summer Orchestra Institute and Juilliard Summer Winds under Carol Wincenc. She has also been invited to perform at venues including Carnegie Hall and Suntory Hall. In the future, Nina wishes to expand her musical scope and find ways to utilize music as a connection between fellow musicians and audiences alike.
