Noah Kim

Noah Kim, 16, is a Scholarship Fellow at the Music Institute of Chicago’s Academy, a training center for advanced pre-college musicians. He currently studies piano with Dr. Christopher Guzman of Northwestern University.



Noah began piano at the age of four, studying under Dr. Jeannie Yu. He later studied with Professor Konrad Maria Engel of the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin during a year living in Germany. As a chamber musician, Noah won first prize at the Chicago National Chamber Music Competition in the MYAC division and third prize, along with the audience award, at the Glass City Chamber Music Competition.



Growing up in a musical family, Noah enjoys using his talents to give back. In 2022, he performed solo and chamber music with his father who is a violinist and his mother who is a soprano for Ukrainian refugees at the cultural center in Vranov and Michalovce, Slovakia. Recently, he participated in a chamber music concert hosted by the Washington Chamber Orchestra in D.C.



Noah is currently a junior at Vernon Hills High School, where he plays piano and percussion in the Wind Ensemble.
