
Olina Xia was born and raised in San Diego, California. At the age of four, she began learning piano and went on to become an award winner in solo and duet piano contests. Olina has teamed up with her sister, Olivia, to win top prizes in piano duets at numerous international music competitions, including the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition 2022, Elite International Music Competition 2023, New York Global Music Competition 2022, Charleston International Piano Competition 2022, the American Virtuoso International Music Competition 2022-2023, and the American Protégé International Piano & Strings Competition 2023. She was a State Winner and Division Finalist, representing California, in the 2023-2024 Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Southwest Division Senior Piano Duet Student Competition. They performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City in 2023.
For the past four years, she has studied oboe with renowned oboist Francisco Castillo, earning the Certificate of Merit from the Music Teachers’ Association of California with state honors. As an oboist, she recently received third prize in the 2023 American Protégé International Music Talent Competition.
In addition to playing piano and oboe, Olina is a star student, a competitive swimmer, and an award-winning artist.
