Oliver Dong (12.5 years old) has been passionately playing the piano for 7 years. He began his musical journey at the age of 6, receiving classical training under the guidance of Zhanna Zvenigorodsky. He studied classical and pop music as well as musical theory. However, his curiosity and love for contemporary music led him to explore learning songs by ear. Today, Oliver’s repertoire is diverse, featuring pieces from movies and television alongside genres like pop, rock, R&B, and jazz. Oliver recently received 3rd place in the 2024 Charleston Summer Music Competition.
In addition to the piano, Oliver showcases his musical talent as a percussionist in his middle school concert and jazz bands. His interests extend beyond music to include sports like baseball, soccer, and flag football, as well as swimming and Lego robotics.
Born in Walnut Creek, CA, Oliver currently lives in Concord, CA, with his parents, David and Genevieve, and younger sister, Natalie. His multifaceted interests and dedication to music make him a well-rounded and dynamic young artist.
