
Owen Smith is a 16-year-old classical pianist from the Washington, D.C. area. He has studied piano for over ten years under the guidance of his teacher, Mardon Sharipov. Owen has received additional training at the Indiana University Summer Piano Academy, the Leon Fleisher Academy, Interlochen Center for the Arts, the Peabody Institute, and George Mason University. Owen has received prizes and recognition in many competitions, including the Franz Liszt Center International Piano Competition, the Viola Hartman Piano Performance Awards, and multiple Charleston International Music Competitions. He enjoys sharing his music with others, and in addition to regular piano recitals, he has performed at the German Embassy, community events, and multiple fundraisers. Owen is a recipient of the Sousa Scholarship at Gonzaga College High School and is a member of the school’s Applied Piano Program, which provides additional performance opportunities throughout his high school years.
