“Deep Night” is the title of a Peking Opera piece.
The melody progresses from complex to simple, with more development in the allegro section which fully and gracefully expresses the essence of the original song – the strong and beautiful music. In the Peking Opera “Drumming and Scolding Cao” and “Farewell My Concubine”, it is used to coordinate scenes such as Mi Heng’s drumming and Yu Ji’s sword dance.
