Richard Shaw received his Bachelor of Music in performance from Florida Atlantic University and his Master of Music in performance from The University of Mississippi.
He has over 50 years of professional playing experience beginning in Greater New England where after a year of college he played in the Army Band of New England for 3 years. He continued his career playing in various orchestras and jazz/blues bands including several years with Grammy award winning artist Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown. He has spent the last 25 years in Florida continuing his playing career while teaching privately. He is actively teaching and playing in various venues in Central Florida, including Principle Solo Cornet in Orchid City Brass Band, and section Orlando Concert Band.
