Risa Sogo

In Japan, I have won prizes in the regional qualifying rounds (in the Tokyo metropolitan area) of the Japanese Children’s Song Contest for three consecutive years, from third grade to fifth grade.
I performed in a musical play by Etsuko Nosaka (a picture book author) with other famous Japanese actresses. The theme of the play was human relations in the Great East Japan Earthquake. In that play, she sang the solo part of the main song.
As a jazz dancer, I was invited to perform in a ballet performance (Nutcracker) organized by Hiroto Natoli, who was a dancer in Les Ballets Trocadero de Monte Carlo.
I also sang and danced at a Christmas concert at the request of “Happy Mother Music,” a non-profit organization that gives classical concerts for children. The dance was designed and choreographed by me. I have also been asked by the Japanese community to perform songs and dances at festivals and concerts.
I was a dance leader at the zoom musical is called “ Reigning Cats and Dogs”. For subsequent year, I was a dance leader at the musical is called “ The Wonderful wizard of Oz”. Also, she sang a song a Japanese song is called “Yuyake koyake “ at the zoom-bopping.Zoom- bopping is a project was established to give singers the opportunity to perform and give back to the community. The last year, Last year I sang as Children chores at BSO. Summer vacation in the same year, I participated in the VOICES/BLO Summer Opera Camp. Now I am high school student. I sing soprano in an a cappella group called Notefy. Next year, I will be singing in a well-known high school chorus group called Camerata. The instructor is Dr. Micheal Driscoll.
