Roland is currently a student of Megan Crawford in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Prior to moving to Michigan, he started learning violin at age 3 with Hisami Iijima Dillard in Phoenix, Arizona. He enjoys playing in small ensembles in addition to jamming at home with his younger sister and brother. He is grateful for the opportunity to participate in the Charleston International Summer Music Competition.
