
Rowan Pedraza (piano), 18, lives in Katonah, New York, and is a senior at the Hackley School. He studies with Carmel Lowenthal in The Manhattan School of Music Precollege Program. He will be attending Dartmouth College in the fall where he will continue his musical studies. He recently won First Prize at the Spring 2024 Vivo International Music Competition, Gold Medal at the 2024 Young Maestro International Competition, First Prize at the 2024 Camerata Artists International Competition, and Grand Prize at the 2024 International Young Artists Competition of the National League of Performing Arts. He has also won top prizes at the 2023 International Grande Music Competition, the 2023 Camerata Artists International Competition, and the 2021 J.Y. Park Piano Competition. Before attending The Manhattan School of Music Precollege, Rowan studied with Mikhail Zeiger at the Music Conservatory of Westchester. He has also studied with Anna Polonsky in the Curtis Institute of Music Piano Intensive and Thomas Lymenstull in the 2020 Interlochen Online Music Camp. He has participated in masterclasses with Yoheved Kaplinsky, Christopher Harding, and Tian Ying. Rowan is very active in the Hackley School chamber music program. He participated in the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Young Musician Regional concerts in 2022 and 2023 and recently performed with his piano quartet in the March 2024 regional concert as well. In his spare time, Rowan enjoys running, squash, soccer, hiking, philosophy, physics, reading, and playing cello.
