Ruby Mae Gellizeau-Ip

Ruby Mae Gellizeau-Ip is a natural at singing and performing. Hailing from New York City, she is 11 years old and attends the Churchill School and Center. During the pandemic, her first vocal recital was over Zoom for the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. At only 7 years old, Ruby put on a sequined dress, tossed on a feather boa, threw herself into the performance, and made the song her own to the delight of her classmates, teachers, and other parents. Ruby actively participates in musicals, recitals, cabarets, and benefit performances. She has grown even more confident and skilled under the direction of voice teacher Brooke Collins. Ruby won 3rd place in the Broadway/musical theatre category in the 2023 American Protege’s International Music Competition and an Honorable mention in the Broadway/musical theatre category in the 2024 American Protege’s International Music Competition. Ruby says, “Singing means a lot to me. I can express my feelings and feel the music.”
