Ryan Chung has been taking piano lessons since he was 7 and currently studies with Allan Park. He won the 1st Prize in the 2023 Washington Music Educator Association’s state piano solo competition. Ryan was also the gold medalist and most-memorable performer in the 2022 Pacific Northwest Piano Competition. Additionally, Ryan has won the silver prize in the 2022 Pacific International Competition and third prize at the IX Rome International Music Competition. He has also won numerous other awards in the Chopin Foundation Festival, Seattle Young Artists Music Festival, and the Performing Arts Festival of the Eastside, to name a few. Ryan also won the gold medal in the SCMTA and Pacific Northwest Piano Concerto Competitions, performing with the Everett Pacifica Chamber and the Bellevue Symphony Chamber Orchestras.
Ryan is also an avid violinist, performing in his school’s chamber ensemble as well as his quartet. The chamber, Über Kammerstreich, placed second in the 2022 Washington Music Educator Association’s state competition last year.
