Samuel Kim began playing piano at the age of 4.5 years and has been studying with his current teacher for the past 3 years at the Music Institute of Chicago. His awards have included the Gold Medals at the Northwest Suburban Music Teachers Association, Chicago Area Music Teachers Association, and North Shore Music Teachers Association Sonata-Sonatina Festivals; Achievements in Music (AIM) Honors awards; and Honorable Mention in the Emilio del Rosario Concerto Competition 2017. Sam has performed with the Northeastern Illinois University Orchestra as the winner of the Chicago Chamber Music Festival (CCMF) Concerto Competition 2021. He has also performed in the Thirsty Ears Festival 2021 and 2022, the only classical music street festival in Chicago. Most recently Sam performed in the Young Steinway Concert Series at the Skokie Public Library.
