
Samuel Lee (violin), 13, is from Lexington, Massachusetts. He began playing the violin at the age of 4 under the guidance of Juhee Lee, and currently studies with Fudeko Takashi of the New England Conservatory. He is a member of the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and the NEC Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, where they’ve toured across the US and Mediterranean Europe. Additionally, he was the associate concertmaster of the MMEA Northeastern Junior Districts in 2023. His awards include the top prizes for 2 years in the State and Division String Competition of the Music Teachers National Association, Bay State String Competition (2023 and 2024), Sejong Music Competition (2023), Royal Maas International Competition (2024), and the Global Young Musician Competition (2024). He has masterclasses with Kyoko Takezawa of the Boston Music Institute, Kim Hoe Jin, and Guy Braunstein.
Outside of music, Samuel primarily enjoys science, mathematics, and reading as part of his school’s Science Olympiad and Science Bowl Team. During his free time, he enjoys spending time online with friends, playing tennis, and volunteering at local churches and senior centers with his community chamber ensemble across New England to share the joy of music to others.
