Starting violin at the age of 9, Sarah Kang is pursuing her musical studies with Jessica Fan. She is currently a sophomore in Fairfax County and takes part in numerous music related activities, including being a first violinist of the Capitol Youth Symphonic Orchestra and her high school’s Chamber Orchestra- both being the most advanced group. She has ranked 6th in the Senior District Orchestra as a freshman, and additionally, Sarah has participated in national and international competitions such as recently receiving first place honors for the Crescendo International Music Competition, being invited for the Winner’s Recital at Carnegie Hall. She has also been awarded second place for the Great Composers Competition, and an honorable mention for the YMIC Metropolitan Music Festival. To further share the passion she carries for music, Sarah is a volunteer of the Tacy Foundation, and often visits her community’s senior centers to perform.
