Sarah Son

Sarah is 16 years old and is currently a Junior at Ed W. Clark High School. She started playing the piano at age 6 and has been studying under Yealee Kim, and currently under Dr. Timothy Hoft, a professor from UNLV. She is a member of Gift of Music, a nonprofit organization that gives its members the opportunities to share their musical talents to those in assisted living and in nursing homes throughout the Las Vegas valley. In addition, the members participate in various service projects throughout the community.

Sarah has exceeded in piano and has competed in several piano competitions. Some of her accomplishments are 2021 opus Competition 3rd place, 2020 Silver state Competition first place, and first place in the 2019 Roger Bushell piano competition, second place in the 2018 Steinway & Sons piano competition, and first place in both the 2017 and 2018 Silver State social piano competition. Her complex piano repertoire and elegant playing style have won the eyes, ears, and hearts of many.

Sarah enjoys spending time with her friends, listening to music, and perfecting the art of writing calligraphy. She states, “Piano has been an important part of my life. I hope my talent can inspire people.”
