Sean Shushang Lin

Began learning the piano since the age of 5 in China, now 18 in Katy, Texas. Initially influenced by Richard Clayderman and Paul de Senneville, who paved the way for my focus on expressive and melodic performance styles, my piano studies evolved into a deep appreciation for Frederic Chopin’s Romantic-era lyrical pieces. Chopin’s title as the “Poet of the Piano” parallels my passion for poetry, creating a profound connection between music and creative writing.

Watch Sean Shushang Lin perform Nocturne Op. 48, No. 1 by Frederic Chopin for the 2025 International Piano Competition as part of the Charleston International Music Competition.
