Selina Dong

Selina Dong is 14 years old from Utah, she started playing piano at the age of 7 with help from her piano teacher Ya Liu. She finished all 10 levels of AIM in 2024. In 2021, Selina won the Rome competition, getting awarded 1st prize. In 2022, she was the first place winner of the Vienna and London international music competition. And finally the Triumph music festival, first prize, Philadelphia. During the year of 2022, she placed 2nd in the American Protégé Talent competition. In 2023, she won the piano duo/four hands competition of New York, Carnegie Hall, the American Protege Music Talent Fall Competition, and the first place winner of Barcelona and Salzburg, the international music competition. In 2024, she won the Spring music competition of the Charleston International Music competition and the Salt Lake Piano Competition Solo. Her first award in this current year is from the 2025 international duo piano competition, in which they received first place. Other than that, she has been playing piano for 7 consecutive years in the Honors recital evaluation from the Utah music teachers association, where she was invited to perform at the Utah music teachers conference. This summer, Selina along with her studio participated in a music exchange program in Zhejiang conservatory of music and even played a concerto with the symphony. Whenever Selina has time or the opportunity, she enjoys doing service at senior living, hospitals, and even at the mall. Outside of piano, Selina does piano accompaniment for school band classes and performances. She spends her time drawing, and won first place in the Utah category in the 2024 art of conservation songbird competition. She really enjoys what she’s doing and loves to spend her time sketching, painting, playing her viola, and more.
