Shawn Lee is a native of Malaysia and began playing the piano at age four. He is currently a graduate student at Missouri State University, studying under Dr. Wei-Han Su. He has won several top prizes in piano competitions, including First Place at the Missouri Music Teachers Association competition, First Place at the collegiate division of the J.D. Kelly Piano Competition, the Gold Medal of the Professional Group of the IPPA Conero International Piano Competition, U.S. Division, Midwest Region, and also the First prize for the Final round of IPPA Conero International Piano Competition held in Italy 2023. In addition to being a soloist, Shawn has performed as a collaborator since an early age, accompanying singers competing at the state, regional, and national level. He has performed with professional vocalists in Malaysia and is an active collaborator at MSU.
