Clarinetist Sheng Chen is a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician, he has performed in Beijing, Singapore, Japan, Israel, etc. Sheng was a winner of the 2020 Thursday Musical Young Artist Competition and Gold Award of the 2016 Singapore International Chinese Music Festival. Sheng began to learn clarinet at the age of 10, He has played masterclass with Ricardo Morales, Corrado Giuffredi, and Walter Seyfarth,etc. He holds Bachelor of Music degree from the China Conservatory of Music, Master of Music degrees in clarinet performance from the Peabody Conservatory of Music at Johns Hopkins University, He is currently studying for Doctor of Musical Arts degree in clarinet performance at University of Minnesota. Sheng’s principal teachers include Yi He, Alexander Fiterstein. Timothy Zavadil and Sang Yoon Kim. Sheng plays on Henri Selmer clarinets and Vandoren products.
