Sofie Dardzinski has been studying classical guitar with Franco Platino for 5 years. She has played in multiple showcase recitals, juries, and competitions, winning top awards in the King’s Peak International Music Competition, the Elite International Music competition, the American Classical Musician Youth Award, the Canadian International Music Competition, the Nouvelles Etoiles International Online Music Competition, the International Youth Musical Talent Contest, and the prestigious Myrna Sislen Youth Guitar Competition. She won first place for intermediate age group in the Marlin-Engel Solo Instrumental Competition in 2023, and placed 3rd playing up in the senior age group in 2024. She has performed in master classes with Zoran Dukic and SoloDuo, and given pre-performance recitals for SoloDuo and Laura Snowden. Most recently, she was a finalist in the Philadephia National Youth Guitar Competition. She plays cello in her Middle School orchestra as well. When not playing her guitar, Sofie loves soccer, running, writing poetry, and studying math and physics, as well as playing with her dogs.
